This policy explains what data the Renewly Android app
(com.progedify.renewals) collects, why, and what choices you have. It is written to
describe what the app actually does — not a generic template.
In short: Renewly asks for no account, no name and no email, and it operates no server. Every renewal you record — its name, its date, your notes, and any photos you attach — is stored only on your device and is never sent to us. The ad-supported version of the app shows ads, and our advertising partner (Google AdMob) collects some device data to serve them. A separate ad-free build collects nothing at all.
This app is published by Progedify. For any privacy question or request, contact cse.sadhan@gmail.com.
Renewly lets you attach photos to a renewal, and the photos people take are of passports, driving licences, visas, insurance certificates and professional credentials. Those images are sensitive by any definition.
None of them leaves your device. There is no account, no sign-in, no cloud sync and no server that could hold them. Each photo is written to the app's own private storage, where no other app on the phone can read it. We cannot see these images, we cannot produce them in response to a request from anyone, and we could not hand them over if we were asked, because we never receive them.
Two consequences you should understand:
None that leaves your device. We operate no server and hold no user database.
| Data | Where it is stored | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Renewal names, categories, expiry and renewal dates | Locally on your device only | To show your list and count the days remaining |
| Lead times, renewal cycles and reminder times | Locally on your device only | To schedule notifications on your device |
| Notes you type against a renewal | Locally on your device only | They are yours to keep and re-read |
| Photographs of documents you attach | Locally on your device only, in the app's private storage | So you have the document itself when the reminder arrives |
| History — when an item was created and when you marked it renewed | Locally on your device only | To show what you have already dealt with |
| Settings — theme, reminder times, layout | Locally on your device only | To remember your preferences |
This data is never transmitted to us. Uninstalling the app deletes it, photographs included.
The ad-supported version of Renewly displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve, measure and prevent fraud in advertising, Google may collect and process:
Your renewals are not used to target ads. Nothing you record in Renewly — no date, no note, no document photograph — is read by the advertising code, shared with Google, or used to decide which ad you see. The ad software has no access to your entries, and we send it none. The data above is what the device itself provides to any ad-supported app.
Ads in Renewly are full-screen only and are shown between tasks. They are never shown while you are entering a renewal, and never on top of a document photograph.
This collection is performed by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. See also how Google uses data from apps that use its services.
| Permission | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Notifications | The reminders you set. Without this the app cannot do the one thing it is for |
| Exact alarms | So a reminder arrives at the time you chose. Optional; the app still works without it, with a wider delivery window |
| Camera | Only when you tap "Take a photo" to attach a document image. Choosing an existing photo instead needs no permission at all |
| Internet | Ad-supported build only. The ad-free build does not request internet access at all |
This app is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used this app and provided information, contact us and we will act on it.
Renewly records dates you tell it and counts the days to them. It does not tell you whether a document is valid, whether you are insured, whether you may travel, or what any authority requires of you. Renewal rules, validity requirements and entry conditions are set by governments, insurers and issuers, they change without notice, and they are theirs to state — not ours. Always check with the issuing body.
None, because we hold none. We have no server, no database and no account system, so there is no store of user data we could search, disclose, sell or lose. This is a property of how the app is built rather than a promise about how we behave.
The app contains no analytics SDK. We do not measure how you use it, and we receive no crash reports containing your data.
The export file you create from Settings is written wherever you choose to save it, through the Android file picker. It contains your renewals and your document photographs in full. From that point it is an ordinary file on your device or in whatever cloud drive you saved it to, governed by that service's terms rather than by this policy.
Because all of your data stays on your device, you exercise every right directly: view it in the app, edit or delete any item, export it from Settings, and remove all of it by uninstalling. There is nothing held by us to request, correct or erase. If you have a question about any of this, contact us.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a revised date above. Material changes affecting how data is handled will also be noted in the app's release notes.
