Privacy Policy — Odograph

Last updated: 19 August 2026

This policy explains what data the Odograph Android app (com.progedify.vehiclelog) collects, why, and what choices you have. It is written to describe what the app actually does — not a generic template.

In short: Odograph asks for no account, no name and no email, and it operates no server. Every fill-up, service, expense and reminder you record — and every receipt you photograph — is stored only on your device and is never sent to us. The ad-supported version of the app shows ads, and our advertising partner (Google AdMob) collects some device data to serve them. A separate ad-free build collects nothing at all and does not even request internet access.

1. Who we are

This app is published by Progedify. For any privacy question or request, contact cse.sadhan@gmail.com.

2. Photographs of receipts — read this part

Odograph lets you attach photographs to a fill-up, a service or an expense — a fuel receipt, a garage invoice, the odometer. This is the most sensitive thing the app holds, so it is worth being exact about where those images go:

Choosing an existing image from your gallery does not require any permission: Android's photo picker returns only the single image you selected, and the app never gains access to the rest of your library.

3. Data the app itself collects

None that leaves your device. We operate no server and hold no user database.

DataWhere it is storedWhy
Vehicles — the name you give one, its make, year, fuel type and units Locally on your device only To label your log and do the arithmetic in the units you use
Fill-ups — odometer, volume, price, total, grade, and the station name if you type one Locally on your device only To compute consumption, cost per distance, and the drift the app is built around
Services and expenses — description, cost, category, odometer Locally on your device only To show what a vehicle has cost you and break it down
Notes you type against an entry Locally on your device only They are yours to keep and re-read
Photographs you attach to an entry Locally on your device only, in the app's private storage So the receipt is there when the figure looks wrong — see section 2
Reminders — title, target date or odometer reading Locally on your device only To schedule notifications on your device
Settings — theme, accent, units, which tabs are in the bar Locally on your device only To remember your preferences

This data is never transmitted to us. Uninstalling the app deletes it, photographs included.

4. Data collected by advertising

The ad-supported version of Odograph displays ads through Google AdMob. To serve, measure and prevent fraud in advertising, Google may collect and process:

Your vehicle log is not used to target ads. Nothing you record in Odograph — no odometer reading, no cost, no note, no receipt photograph, no station name — is read by the advertising code, shared with Google, or used to decide which ad you see. The ad software has no access to your entries, and we send it none. The data above is what the device itself provides to any ad-supported app.

Ads in Odograph are full-screen only and are shown between tasks. They are never shown while you are entering a fill-up, and never on top of a receipt photograph.

This collection is performed by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. See also how Google uses data from apps that use its services.

5. Your choices about ads

6. Permissions the app asks for

PermissionWhat it is for
NotificationsThe service and renewal reminders you set. Without this the app cannot tell you anything is due
CameraOnly when you tap "Camera" to photograph a receipt. Choosing an existing photo instead needs no permission at all, and the app works fully without ever granting this
Run at startupSo reminders you already set survive a reboot. Without it, restarting your phone would silently cancel them
VibrateThe short tap you feel when a control responds
InternetAd-supported build only. The ad-free build does not request internet access at all

Odograph does not ask for location, contacts, storage, or your gallery.

7. Children

This app is intended for people aged 13 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has used this app and provided information, contact us and we will act on it.

8. Odograph does not give mechanical, legal or financial advice

Odograph records what you tell it and does arithmetic on it. A consumption figure, a projected service date or a drift warning is a calculation from your own entries — it is not an inspection, a diagnosis, or a statement that a vehicle is safe or roadworthy. Service intervals, roadworthiness requirements and testing deadlines are set by manufacturers and by law, they change, and they are theirs to state, not ours. Always check the handbook and a qualified mechanic.

9. Data we would have to disclose

None, because we hold none. We have no server, no database and no account system, so there is no store of user data we could search, disclose, sell or lose. This is a property of how the app is built rather than a promise about how we behave.

10. Analytics

The app contains no analytics SDK. We do not measure how you use it, and we receive no crash reports containing your data.

11. Backup and restore

The export file you create from Settings is written wherever you choose to save it, through the Android file picker. It contains your vehicles, your entries and your reminders. From that point it is an ordinary file on your device or in whatever cloud drive you saved it to, governed by that service's terms rather than by this policy.

Restoring a backup replaces your whole log. Any receipt photograph belonging to an entry that no longer exists after the restore is deleted from the device at that moment, rather than being left behind where nothing can reach it.

12. Screenshot protection

By default Odograph blanks its own preview in the Android app switcher, so a vehicle, its registration and a receipt are not left on screen behind other apps. You can turn this off in Settings.

13. Your rights

Because all of your data stays on your device, you exercise every right directly: view it in the app, edit or delete any entry, export it from Settings, and remove all of it by uninstalling. There is nothing held by us to request, correct or erase. If you have a question about any of this, contact us.

14. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a revised date above. Material changes affecting how data is handled will also be noted in the app's release notes.
